Where is Grace Potter?

When we look at the background of Potter’s fame, it’s not hard to discern how her live performances came about. A powerful singer who crafted big melodies, Potter had a way of winning fans by wowing them on stage. As a result, she was put in an interesting position during the COVID-19 lockdown. After her divorce from Matt Burr, the singer-songwriter released a solo album in 2015. But she’s since gone on a hiatus from public performance.

Daylight was partly recorded in Potter’s garage and living room

In 2017 Potter began recording tracks for her new album, Daylight, in her Topanga Canyon home. Potter lives with producer Eric Valentine. The album is her first release for Fantasy Records, after previously releasing on Hollywood Records. Potter’s new album is a return to her roots rock glory, with anthems and confessionals that are heartfelt and cathartic.

Potter’s new album was partly recorded in her garage and living room but was mostly recorded in Valentine’s Los Angeles studio. The album opens with the song “Love is Love,” featuring Jess Wolfe and Holly Lessing of Lucius, who previously performed with Potter at Grand Point North. Another track features Benmont Tench, of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers fame.

Potter’s relationship with Kenny Chesney

A recent song on country radio has Grace Potter duetting with Kenny Chesney. The duet was the result of a cold call between the two. Chesney was stuck on a boat listening to a Grace Potter CD and decided to call the singer to discuss the song.

The two were first seen together at a tsunami relief event in 2004 and married just a few months later. However, in December 2005, the couple separated and filed for divorce. After their divorce, rumors started spreading about Chesney’s infidelity. In 2009, he addressed the allegations in an interview with the magazine Playboy.

Potter’s upcoming tour dates

The new solo studio album, Daylight, will be released on October 25th and will be Potter’s first solo release since 2015. The album was inspired by the recent divorce between Potter and her longtime partner, and was produced by her husband, Eric Valentine. Benmont Tench also contributed to the album.

Grace Potter has a wealth of experience on stage. She has played at every major music festival, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Rock in Rio. She has also founded her own music festival, Grand Point North, in Burlington, Vermont. In addition, she has collaborated with The Flaming Lips and recorded two GRAMMY-nominated singles with Kenny Chesney.
