In Southern California, the Coachella music festival has a long and distinguished history. First held in 1990, it is one of the world’s most famous music festivals. Today, it is held at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, and unfolds over two weekends. Artists from all genres, from alternative to mainstream, have performed at the event. In addition to the world’s biggest bands, Coachella also has a diverse lineup of artists from the country to electronic. 


If you’re planning a trip to the Stagecoach music festival in California this year, here are a few things you should know. The Stagecoach music festival is held in the desert, so be sure to dress appropriately. Expect temperatures to climb above 115oF (43oC) during the day, but temperatures can also dip to 50oF/10C at night. To prepare yourself for the high temperatures, bring light-weight clothes and sunscreen. 


The Lollapalooza music festival started in 1991 as a multi-city venue for the farewell tour of Jane’s Addiction. Named for its archaic meaning “extraordinarily impressive,” it was a success in its first year and expanded to three days in 1992. A line-up of popular bands played, including the Rollins Band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, J. Cole, LCD Soundsystem, and Jane’s Addiction. 

iHeartRadio Music Festival 

The iHeartRadio Music Festival is today in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since its first broadcast on VH1 in 2011, the festival has been televised annually as a television special. The Day N Vegas music festival will be taking place this Labor Day weekend, but the cancellation of Adele’s residency has caused a flurry of confusion. Roc Nation is bringing back its Made in America music festival for the tenth year, which will take place in Benjamin, Pennsylvania, this Labor Day weekend. The festival will feature more than 60 artists and will benefit the nonprofit REFORM Alliance. Roc Nation founder JAY-Z helped organize the music festival in 2012.
