Denver Day of Rock Festival 

On Memorial Day weekend, the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver fills with the Denver Day of Rock Festival. Five stages of live music and activities for the whole family will bring the city to life. Proceeds from the event will benefit Amp the Cause, a nonprofit that helps children in need through fundraising events and community service projects. The lineup includes nationally-known acts like The Band Perry, The Wild Belle, and Austin Plaine, as well as local acts like Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears. 

Strings Music Festival 

Strings are Colorado’s most renowned classical music festival, with its diverse lineup of international artists. Strings are proud to have Michael Sachs, principal trumpeter for the Cleveland Orchestra, as its new music director. He fell in love with the state while spending the summer in Aspen. His credentials include international soloist, chamber musician, author, and clinician. Sachs’s program will be a perfect fit for young classical music lovers.

This year’s lineup features all of these bands, as well as a whole host of others. 

CBMF 

The Crested Butte Music Festival, now in its nineteenth season, is renowned for presenting world-class music in the scenic Gunnison Valley. With its emphasis on innovative musical explorations in the wilderness, the Festival presents a wide range of styles and genres. The festival also features educational and interactive programs for music lovers of all ages. This year’s CBMF is held on July 23-October 1 and will feature four mini-festivals and a new Sally Miner Lecture Series. 

Global Dance Festival

You can kayak, raft, or swim with the festival’s river outfitter. For those who aren’t big on water activities, there are also yoga classes, a children’s area, and a kids’ zone.
