FITZGERALDS American Music Festival

The 39th Annual FITZGERALDS American Music Festival is back after a year off! This music festival is filled with Americana, roots, blues, rockabilly, and soul music, all paired with a variety of foods. Headlining acts include Son Volt, the North Mississippi All-Stars, and Rebirth Brass Band. Other performers include Joe Pug, Lydia Loveless, and the Waco Brothers. If you want to catch every performance, you should buy a ticket.

This year’s lineup is stacked with musical acts from all over the United States. For the first time, there will be a performance by Aaron Lee Tasjan, a New Orleans native who plays guitar and piano and sings all of his original music. He’ll be joined on stage by Ben Lecourt from France, Jessica Lee Wilkes from Kentucky, and Erica Blinn from Ohio. The talented young musician has been writing music since he was eleven years old.

Brooklyn Americana Music Festival

On June 25 and 26, the eighth annual Brooklyn Americana Music Festival returns to Pier 6 Liberty View Lawn for two days of live music. This unique festival brings together thirty Brooklyn-based and special guest artists performing original folk and country blues music. This festival features acoustic jam sessions and harmony singing. For more information, visit the Brooklyn Americana Music Festival website. It’s free to attend, but advance tickets are highly recommended.

The festival’s lineup features nearly thirty artists across five stages. Among the many highlights of the festival are performances by Saudia Young, a UK native who has toured Europe for several years. She is an Independent Music Awards Best Americana Album nominee, having been nominated for her album Dream of the Miner’s Child. She has also opened for Sierra Ferrell and Odetta. Besides performing her original music, Bell is also a producer of more than 300 live music events each year at small, women-owned venues.

Centerville-Washington Township Americana Music Festival

On July 4, 2022, Centerville will host the Centerville-Washington Township Americana Festival, the largest one-day Americana festival in the state of Ohio. The 50th anniversary of the Americana Festival will see more live music, street vendors, and family-friendly experiences than ever before. The festival, which is the largest of its kind in Ohio, has attracted more than 75,000 people each year.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Americana Festival, Centerville will host a parade through the downtown area. Beginning at 10 a.m., the parade will proceed west, south, and west again until it ends at Tuxworth Road. After the parade, the Americana Street Fair will begin and include several family-friendly activities. There will be hundreds of arts and crafts booths, food vendors, musical performances, and a kids’ activity and game area.

Telluride Americana Music Festival

Every year, the Telluride Americana Music Festival presents an all-star lineup of singer-songwriters and upcoming musicians. Held on July 14-16, this festival benefits the Sheridan Opera House and provides arts education to the community. During the festival, floor tickets cost $100 plus a $5 ticketing fee, while balcony seats are $70. Balcony seating offers a more intimate setting. Unlike the floor-level seating, balcony seats are all seated.

While the Telluride Americana Music Festival is widely recognized for its legendary lineup of artists, this less-known event is equally enjoyable. Usually held in July, the series showcases singer-songwriters from around the country and combines tradition with contemporary innovation. While you might not expect a Bobbie Gentry or Patsy Cline performance at the Telluride Americana Music Festival 2022, you might be delighted to discover that local favorites like Cross Canadian Ragweed will perform Oklahoma Red Dirt Music.
